How do I get a CSV from Excel?
In Excel: File → Save As → CSV. In Google Sheets: File → Download → Comma-separated values (.csv).
Which column becomes the name?
A column named 'name'. If there isn't one, the first column is used as the recipient name.
Can I reference other columns?
Yes — any column header can be used in the text as a {placeholder}, e.g. {event} or {date}.
